PostSubject: Nicole Kidman "Paparazzi made life in Australia unbearable."   Sat Dec 12, 2009 9:08 am

A HOMESICK Nicole Kidman has raised eyebrows after saying paparazzi made life in Australia unbearable, then walking out of a big movie promotion after only 10 minutes.

Kidman's diva turn - after she said she was treated better in her adopted home in Nashville - left film writers from across Europe bewildered.

A tired Kidman said she desperately missed her parents and other relatives when overseas, but hasn't missed the attention she gets from celebrity photographers in her home city.

"It makes certain cities impossible to live in. Like Sydney, it makes it impossible for us to live there," she said. "We certainly don't get that treatment in Tennessee."

Then, 10 minutes into the scheduled 30-minute interview with a handful of movie writers, a minder called for a last question and she walked out.

Kidman, husband Keith Urban and 17-month-old daughter Sunday Rose split their time between Tennessee and Australia.

"At the moment Keith's career requires him to be based in Nashville, because there isn't a huge career for him in terms of country music in Australia," she said, before her sudden exit.

"At the same time we're so connected to Australia, because our parents, my sister, our nieces and nephews, are all based there.

"So it really is a pull. I miss my mum and dad so much."

Kidman's run-ins with the paparazzi in Sydney are notorious. She once told a court of fearing for her life when she was pursued through the city by photographers in a high-speed car chase.

This year the star sold her home in Sydney's Darling Point for a reported $13.2 million, far less than the initial $20 million estimate.

Urban, opening a national tour in Melbourne last night, backed Kidman saying: "In Nashville, we just jump in a car and drive to wherever we want to go - to restaurants or movies. There is never any problem. Obviously, we don't have that in Sydney."

Kidman was speaking at a promotion of Chicago director Rob Marshall's much-anticipated Nine, which opens in Australia on January 21.

The film is her first since Baz Luhrmann's epic Australia, in which she came in for tough personal criticism.

She said her focus was now firmly on her family, and that she chose roles that suited her private life.

"My priority is very much my family. That doesn't waver. So if the film is shooting in some far away land then I can't go there and do that because it's not possible," she said.

"Were very much about keeping our family together. We don't like to be separated at all."

(Sunday Telegraph) - Despite yearning for her family and friends, Hollywood star Nicole Kidman has confirmed she has quit Sydney for good, driven out by relentless paparazzi.

Kidman claims Sydney has become off limits because of the attention of photographers who shadow her every move.

"It makes certain cities impossible to live in. Like Sydney, it makes it impossible for us to live there," she told Australia's Sunday Telegraph.

"We certainly don't get that treatment in Tennessee. But it goes with the territory. It's just, we have to be careful, just to maintain some sort of semblance of a normal life for our child."

The 42-year-old star has been trying to protect her privacy from the media all the more after she married singer Keith Urban and gave birth to daughter Sunday Rose.

Earlier in the year Kidman sold her Darling Point home for $7 million less than its $20 million asking price. The house was the scene of a famous run-in with snapper Jamie Fawcett who had placed a listening bug outside her home.

Kidman is also planning to sell off her South Coast holiday home near Batemans Bay, where she had another run-in with the paparazzi as she was attending a country fair.

And it is because of this very respected treatment in TN, that we Tenneseeans are fighting to keep the stars privacy respected. However, there are stalkers who does everything they can to crowd Keith and Nicole and they're as bad as any paps out there!! This madness must cease immediately!!
